Playing before a packed house at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube, the Men’s Varsity Hockey team lost a thrilling contest to Saline by a 5-3 score Wednesday night. After falling behind 5-0, Pioneer mounted a furious 3rd period comeback when Saline was whistled for a 5 min major penalty late in the contest. With 1:34 remaining in the game, Pioneer again went on the power play and pulled Senior goalie Patrick Newton to get an extra attacker in the offensive zone.
